Warwick team takes part in “Movember” to raise funds and awareness for men’s health.
In many countries, the month of November is also known as “Movember,” or mustache November. The term, coined by the Movember Foundation back in 2004, describes a movement dedicated to awareness and prevention of leading health risks for men, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide. Men all around the world grow out their mustaches and facial hair to raise money for men’s health research and treatment organizations.
Joining the movement.
Our Aftermarket team in Warwick, UK took the Movember challenge and set the razors aside for a few weeks to grow their ‘staches. And for good reason. In the United Kingdom, prostate cancer is the leading cancer in men, affecting over 40,000 every year. A lack of self-examination, awareness of early symptoms, and desire to discuss health matters are among some of the problems. Raising awareness to the severity and prevalence of these issues and raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK was the ultimate goal.
In addition to having fun seeing bosses and colleagues with a bit more peach fuzz, they raised over $1,040 for Prostate Cancer UK and spread awareness for men’s health issues throughout the company. Additionally, a handful of team members raised individual funds not included in that donation.
Be the difference.
Our employees in Warwick are driven to make a difference in the fight against men’s health issues.
