Delphi Poland employees are very active in their communities. Many activities focus on the areas of education, community relations, and volunteerism.
Employees from the Delphi Poland sites cooperate with local universities. In Gdansk, students learn both theory and practice in Delphi-organized workshops focused on optimal use of resources, called the lean philosophy. In Krakow, technical university students take advantage of a series of lectures prepared by Delphi engineers about automotive electronics. Delphi units in Poland also support local communities, take part in social events, and are personally devoted to a variety of activities.
Other specific charitable activities included collecting donations for children of a local orphanage in Zywiec so the children could purchase holiday gifts, preparing packages for children from families in need, and collecting funds for disabled children. In addition, Krakow employees organize year-end charitable events to bring smiles to the children's faces.
For an environmental initiative, Delphi Poland employees planted nearly 400 new trees helping to restore part of the forest high on a sharp slope in the Beskid Żywiecki mountain range in southern Poland. Employees and their families also received an education package with everyday "eco-behavior/habits" and related savings.
