Morocco is a colorful and mysterious country that boasts some of the world's most legendary cities, including Casablanca, Tangier, and Marrakech, and it is home to the Straits of Gibraltar. In addition, Morocco is a country determined to protect its rich cultural identity while taking its place in the modern world economy. Morocco is one of the largest economic powers in Africa and the world's largest exporter of phosphates. Tourism also plays an important role in Morocco's economy. However, it's Morocco's growing automotive and electronics industries that make the country a robust environment for Delphi Morocco. With the largest port in Africa located in Tangier, the future appears bright for Moroccan industry.
Delphi established operations in Morocco in 1999 and has extended its presence with three plants. A 3d wiring harness plant located in the Atlantic Free Zone in Kenitra started activity in 2013. Delphi also launched plastic injection activity in 2011 to support the Delphi Connection Systems area. This manufacturing occurs in the plant II building covering 2,000 square meters.
Delphi became an automotive industry pioneer in the Tangier region, and continues to be a proud part of the nation's economic growth. Delphi plants in Morocco meet the demands of vehicle manufacturers by designing and producing electrical/electronic architecture systems and components that deliver power and signal distribution networks for today's increasingly complex vehicles.
In 2010, Delphi was honored to receive the "Ouissam Alaouite de l'Ordre d'Officier" from the King of Morocco. The Royal Medal recognizes Delphi Morocco's contribution to the economic and industrial development of the Kingdom of Morocco.
The government of Morocco awarded Delphi Morocco with a 2010 Export Award in the "Processing Industry, Other Than Food" category, presented to top performing exporters that have distinguished themselves in their respective fields. A committee composed of professionals and government officials selected successful companies in exporting on the basis of three main criteria: export performance, diversification of export products and destination export markets.
Recruitment at Delphi Morocco focuses on high-tech and engineering/manufacturing positions, particularly those candidates who are experienced with wiring harness production and quality control.
Delphi Morocco employees are active in their communities. Many community relations activities focus on education and volunteer activities. By supporting local communities, Delphi Morocco's employees are personally devoted to a variety of activities that contribute to the well-being of Morocco.
